Frequently Asked Questions

  • Because treatment plans are so individualized, this varies from person to person and even from session to session, all based on your short and long term goals and how you feel that day. We will definitely spend most (and maybe sometimes all) of the time talking — this may be done while seated like more conventional therapy or we might talk while you exercise (some clients love the two-in-one psychotherapy and personal training model).

Movement has profound effects on cognitive performance and nervous system regulation, therefore we may begin the session with ten minutes of movement, grounding, neuro drills, or somatic work in order to prep your brain for the emotional and mental work we will engage in during the rest of the session; this allows you to think clearly and have a stronger brain-body connection which greatly assists in the therapy session being more productive, effective, and efficient. We may also integrate other brain and body-based modalties into the session, such as breathwork, colored glasses, or vagus nerve stimulation, depending on your goals. Because it’s important to me that you understand the “why” behind the modalities I choose, I explain the reason I’m integrating them into your treatment.

I maintain a small practice in order to provide individualized services to my clients. Because these services are far from a one-size-fits-all approach, I spend a lot of time outside of sessions thinking about my clients, researching how we can improve your treatment, and studying/taking courses so I can continue integrating cutting-edge modalities into our work together.

  • Yes, I do!  I tailor your treatment plan based on our discussion of what you are looking for, your goals, and interests.  I will make recommendations based on my own clinical training and experience but ultimately, we will have a discussion about what your psychotherapy may look like.

  • Similar to many holistic practitioners and clinicians (at least the ones I know), I struggled with my mental wellbeing for many years and wasn’t finding relief in conventional western medical and psychiatry/psychotherapy systems. Through my own wellness and healing journey and studying with cutting edge holistic and functional teachers and mentors, I was able to rewire my nervous system and competely change my mindset in a way that I never knew was possible. I was finally able to become the person I dreamed of being and acheive goals I had always struggled with, which included getting off a slew of psychiatric medications. From there, I started curating plans for my patients based on both my conventional and holistic/fuctional training, which led them to make progress in ways they had never

I do not believe there is one correct way to heal — different things work for different people. My job is to learn as many different modalities as possible so I can help you acheive your goals, break through plateaus, and live a life that is filled with happiness and a sense of fulfillment.

  • Definitely! A small handful of my clients have another primary therapist they see for talk therapy and then see me to supplement that treatment. I aim to be in regular contact with all members of your treatment team (psychiatrist, primary care doctor, psychotherapist, physical therapist, etc.) to ensure that the work we do together is only benefitting your overall goals and align with the treatment plan your other providers have mapped out for you. My goal is to get you feeling your best as fast as possible and in a sustainable way and the best way of doing that is collaborating with everyone you see to make sure we are all on the same page.

Examples of some of the “supplemental” treatment concerns I address include holistic lifestyle coaching, performance optimization, executive functioning, sports psychology, ADHD/ADD, eating disorders, chronic pain, athletic performance, anxiety, depression, getting off medication, and improving the mind-body connection.

  • If you are looking to get off medication, this is something we can discuss and collaborate on with your doctor.  While I am not an MD and cannot prescribe or give recommendations for medications, I have experience providing clients with the tools to improve brain and body health in order optimize the nervous system, which may ease the process of medication titration to make it more bearable and successful long term.  Guided by an MD combined with the modalities I offer, many of my patients have successfully titrated off psychiatric medications.

  • The majority of my clients meet with me weekly for 50 minute sessions. Some clients choose to meet twice a week or for longer 60-90 minute sessions depending on goals. There may also be a need for out-of-session support. Because I keep my practice small in order to accommodate my clients’ unique needs, this frequency and session length is flexible and can be discussed.

At this time, I do not offer every other week sessions to new patients.

  • I am an out-of-network provider.  If you reside in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Florida, I am able to provide you with a superbill for submission to insurance if you receive out of network benefits.  If you are outside of these states and I am working with you as a coaching client, I am not able to provide you with a superbill.
